Mansard Close, Hornchurch
This family starter home had an ideal South facing roof. In this situation flat panels can provide the most energy per £ invested. The low water usage of the house and small cylinder size meant that only one panel was required, making for a very economical installation.

The customer approached us in the middle of a whole house refurbishment project where the heating system was also being upgraded. This is the optimum time to incorporate a solar hot water system as the cost of a new cylinder is already taken into account (although solar hot water cylinders are slightly more expensive than conventional ones they are only subject to VAT at 5%). Furthermore access to the roof was available, eliminating any scaffolding cost.
The rear loft conversion provided an un-shaded flat area where evacuated tubes could be installed horizontally, providing hot water even in cloudy weather.
Crofton Road, Camberwell, London
The customer contacted us looking to upgrade their heating system and incorporating a solar hot water system. The property was a maisonette on the top two floors of a terraced house. A small South facing section of roof was available, where we were able to fit high performance evacuated tubes to match the cylinder capacity.
“A Greener Place were in and out in two days, minimal disruption and now every time the Sun shines we're in hot water - Tim said I'd be paying regular visits to my airing cupboard and it's true - there's a real satisfaction in getting a free gift every time the sun comes out”
